Vacherin partners with Surrey Docks Farm

Vacherin is delighted to be working in partnership with the community charitable enterprise Surrey Docks Farm. We’re excited to be able to support its valuable work whilst also having the opportunity to develop our chefs and access the finest produce for our clients and customers.

As the first step in our growing relationship, we’ve purchased a fine selection of their hand-reared livestock to process and use at our sites. Our chef team has been enthusiastic to understand the farm-to-fork journey and to work with such high quality, locally sourced meat.

Paula O’Neill, Vacherin Director of Food says: “I am absolutely delighted to champion our partnership with Surrey Dock Farm in Rotherhithe. They do the most incredible work within their local community, and I am in awe of the positive contribution they make to people’s lives, young and old. It is truly inspirational and humbling. I cannot wait to strengthen our relationship with them! They have allotments and herb gardens, apple orchards, bees and hand-reared animals that we have just purchased for their meat. The CSR story is just incredible! All of this in the beating heart of London – who would have thought!”

The 2.5acre working farm was established in 1975 on a piece of derelict dockland on the south bank of the River Thames in Rotherhithe. The farm works with local communities and the people of Southwark to provide a wide range of educational activities for school children and people with learning difficulties. We will be working with the team on a series of exciting activities to support their great work in the community throughout the coming year.
