At the beginning of November, Vacherin proudly hosted Crush the Rush, our most exciting and fast-paced barista competition to date.
With 18 teams of two competing head-to-head—and against the clock—participants showcased their skills under pressure, crafting a range of exceptional coffee-based drinks for our expert panel of judges.
Judging on the day was Daisy Rollo, Director at CoffeeArabica undefined, Jacob James La Marzocco, Tim Sturk Coffee Consultant, Maxwell Colonna-Dashwood Managing Director at Colonna.
Up for grabs were some amazing prizes including a tour of London’s best coffee joints with Redemption Roasters, Sage home barista machines from SEND Coffee and the top prize was a trip for the winners to Italy to visit the La Marzocco factory. All competitors took away a bumper haul of goodies from our suppliers and sponsors.
This competition marks the launch of Vacherin’s most ambitious barista and coffee development programme yet. We are thrilled to announce an upcoming collaboration with the Specialty Coffee Society to develop a bespoke training and accreditation programme.
A massive thank you to our Operations Director, Tom Rule, and coffee consultant, Marco-Pierre Dietrich, for orchestrating such a fun and high-energy event. This year’s Crush the Rush was not just a competition—it was a celebration of coffee culture and the exceptional talent within our team.
