Taste of Vacherin

We are delighted to have celebrated 20 years of exceptional culinary experiences and heartfelt hospitality at Taste of Vacherin last week. On the evening we were joined by over 100 clients, partners and guests to celebrate all things Vacherin. We sampled delicious new food concepts, showcased our work around sustainability, local procurement and celebrated our critical community and social enterprise projects.

We had so much to talk about at the event so we’ve got a short round up of our business critical areas.

Sustainability

Cathy Storr our Sustainability Business Partner was on hand to talk through our CSR commitments and how we work with clients to achieve more together at site level. We reviewed our chefs’ work in developing more plant-forward menus using Future 50 ingredients, and how this has contributed to an estimated 45% reduction in carbon emissions.

Community & Social Enterprise

We had several of our key partners at the event including Waste Knot, the Felix Project and Luminary Bakery. One of our local suppliers, Surrey Docks Farm, was especially popular, with guests learning about the vital work they do with the local community in Rotherhithe - sharing their knowledge on farming and circular food production.

Food & Innovation

Our Food Team were out in force showcasing the many new and exciting concepts we’ve been working on this year.

Nutritious + Delicious was the star of the show; a range of wellbeing focused food-to-go options that ensures making ‘good’ food choices is easy. The range includes grab-and-go, ambient, market table and hot food items that are nutritionally balanced, visually appealing and, most importantly, taste fantastic.

Guests sampled canapes made from Waste Knot vegetables, tucked into our vibrant new street food concept – Fuxion, explored our Vacherin at Home and Deli to Go ranges and finished the evening with our indulgent dessert station – a Knickerbocker Glory bar!

Please reach out to the food team if you’d like to learn more about some of the concepts. You can also see all the work we’re doing with activation pop ups here.

Technology

Harnessing technology remains a critical part of our business and we had several partners at the event that support us in elevating the digital experience on site. The technology on show was wide ranging, featuring frictionless staff restaurants from Amazon Just Walk In, heat mapping and facial recognition software from Trison, and pre-order kiosks, integrated loyalty apps and robot waiters from Lolly.

We all had a fabulous night and can’t wait to see you at our next Vacherin event!
