We were delighted to host the Vacherin Halloween Treat Master 2023, a celebration that showcased our commitment to addressing food waste and championing best practices within our business. Our talented chefs were tasked with crafting a bewitching Halloween treat, utilising surplus fruits and vegetables generously provided by our partners at Wasteknot, along with flour sourced from the inspiring regenerative farmers at Wildfarmed.
Amongst a pool of formidable contenders, Executive Chef, Steven Lickley emerged as the clear favourite, clinching the title of the Vacherin Halloween Treat Master 2023! His creation, aptly named 'The Cursed Carrotpunk', featured a delectable combination of white chocolate mousse, sticky carrot cake, complemented by a walnut praline and a luscious carrot glaze.
Heartfelt thanks go out to our esteemed panel of judges, including Craig Jackson from Wildfarmed, Vacherin Chef Ludvina Hatert, and Procurement Manager Mark Fitzmaurice, for generously lending their expertise.
Our thanks for entering to all participants, including Laura Corda, Iana Bereghici, and Fabrice Foglia. Each entry was a culinary delight with a spine-tingling twist!
In addition to the culinary accolades, we also managed to raise an impressive £100 for our valued partner, The Prince's Trust. A truly commendable outcome all around!
